Last updated: 27 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Remanx Ltd ("Remanx", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit remanx.com, purchase or enquire about our products or services, submit a repair, arrange a collection or delivery, contact us, create an account, or otherwise interact with us.

Remanx Ltd is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy, except where another organisation acts as a separate controller for its own processing.

This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service, Shipping Policy, Warranty Policy and any additional privacy information provided when we collect personal information from you.

1. Information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with Remanx.

Contact information

We may collect your name, company or business name, billing, delivery and collection addresses, email address, telephone number and other contact information you choose to provide.

Order and transaction information

When you purchase a product or service, request a quotation, arrange a repair or otherwise transact with us, we may collect:

  • payment status and transaction references;
  • refund, return and exchange information;
  • collection and delivery information;
  • tracking information; and
  • records relating to invoices, receipts and account balances.

Payment card and similar financial information is generally collected and processed directly by our payment providers. Remanx normally receives payment confirmation and transaction information rather than your complete payment card details.

Repair, workshop and technical information

Because Remanx provides automotive electronic repair, remanufacturing, testing, exchange, programming and related services, we may collect and retain information relating to the unit and work carried out, including:

  • part numbers, serial numbers and component identifiers;
  • hardware and software identifiers;
  • reported symptoms and fault descriptions;
  • diagnostic trouble codes and test results;
  • previous repair or diagnostic information supplied to us;
  • technician and workshop notes;
  • repair actions and parts used;
  • programming, coding, cloning or configuration information where relevant;
  • photographs or other records of units received, damage, condition, testing or repairs;
  • repair outcome and quality-control information;
  • warranty history and warranty claims; and
  • records linking replacement or exchange units with original or core units.

Electronic modules may themselves contain information such as a VIN, vehicle configuration, mileage, diagnostic history, coding data or other vehicle-specific identifiers. Where that information can be linked to an identifiable individual, we treat it as personal information and process it only as necessary to provide the requested service, administer warranties, maintain appropriate technical records or comply with legal obligations.

Vehicle information

Where relevant to a repair, enquiry, warranty claim, assessment or order, we may collect:

  • vehicle registration number;
  • vehicle identification number (VIN);
  • make, model, year and derivative;
  • mileage;
  • vehicle configuration or technical data; and
  • other vehicle information required to identify, test, program or supply the correct component.

Vehicle information may constitute personal information where it can be linked to an identifiable individual, and we treat it accordingly.

Collection and delivery information

If you use a Remanx collection or delivery service, we may collect and use:

  • collection and delivery names and addresses;
  • telephone numbers and contact details;
  • preferred collection dates;
  • parcel quantities and shipment information;
  • carrier booking and tracking information;
  • delivery instructions where supplied;
  • proof of collection or delivery; and
  • information needed to investigate delayed, lost or damaged shipments.

Enquiries and customer support

When you contact us, we may collect information contained in repair enquiries, assessment requests, website forms, telephone enquiries, WhatsApp or other messaging communications, customer-support requests, complaints, warranty enquiries and other correspondence with us.

If you contact Remanx through a third-party service such as WhatsApp or a social-media platform, that provider may also process information in accordance with its own privacy terms.

Customer account information

If you create or use a customer account, we may process your name and contact details, account identifiers, order history, addresses, account preferences and information necessary to authenticate and manage your account.

Authentication and account infrastructure may be provided by Shopify or another service provider.

Website and device information

When you visit our website, certain information may be collected automatically, including:

  • IP address;
  • browser and device information;
  • operating system;
  • pages viewed;
  • links or products interacted with;
  • referring pages or websites;
  • shopping-cart activity;
  • website search activity;
  • approximate location derived from technical information; and
  • cookie and similar technology identifiers.

Reviews and content you provide

If you submit a product review, testimonial, photograph, comment or other content, we may process the information you provide. Where content is intended to be published publicly, it may be visible to other visitors.

2. Where we obtain personal information

We may obtain personal information:

  • directly from you;
  • when you use our website or online forms;
  • from information contained in a unit sent to us for repair or testing;
  • through Shopify and services connected to our Shopify store;
  • from payment providers;
  • from couriers and delivery providers;
  • from a garage, dealer, business customer or other person acting on your behalf;
  • from manufacturers, suppliers or technical service providers where necessary to support a service;
  • from fraud-prevention, security and authentication services;
  • from analytics and marketing providers where permitted; and
  • from publicly available information where appropriate and lawful.

If you provide personal information about another person, for example a customer, vehicle owner, colleague or recipient, you should ensure that you are authorised to provide that information and that the person has been informed where appropriate.

3. How and why we use personal information

We only use personal information where we have a lawful basis to do so. Depending on the activity, this may be performance of a contract, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests, or your consent.

Providing quotations, products, repairs and services

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, provide quotations, identify suitable repairs or products, process orders, receive and identify units, inspect and test components, carry out repairs, provide replacement or exchange units, undertake requested programming or coding, process payments and refunds, issue invoices and receipts, manage customer accounts and provide after-sales support.

Our lawful basis is normally that processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Collections, shipping and delivery

We use personal information to arrange collections, book couriers, create shipping labels, provide tracking, deliver products and repaired units, investigate shipping problems and administer carrier claims.

Our lawful basis is normally performance of our contract with you. In some circumstances we also rely on our legitimate interests in managing shipments, resolving delivery problems and protecting our business and customers.

Warranty, returns and service history

We use order, repair, vehicle and workshop information to administer warranties, confirm warranty eligibility, identify previous repairs, investigate repeat faults, process returns, exchanges and core returns, handle complaints and disputes, and maintain an appropriate service history for units we have worked on.

Our lawful bases may include performance of our contract, compliance with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interests in maintaining accurate service records, preventing misuse of warranty services, resolving disputes and providing effective after-sales support.

Customer service and communications

We use personal information to respond to questions, provide support, contact you about an order or repair, obtain information needed to complete work and manage complaints.

Our lawful bases are normally performance of our contract and our legitimate interests in providing effective customer service and maintaining our business relationship with you.

Legal, accounting and regulatory requirements

We may use and retain information where necessary to maintain accounting and tax records, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, respond to lawful requests from authorities, establish, exercise or defend legal claims, enforce our terms and policies and protect our legal rights.

Our lawful bases are compliance with a legal obligation and, where appropriate, our legitimate interests in protecting and managing our business.

Security, fraud prevention and misuse

We may process information to detect or prevent fraud, payment abuse, security incidents, unauthorised access, malicious activity or misuse of our website and services.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in protecting Remanx, our systems, our customers and other users, and where applicable compliance with a legal obligation.

Improving our services and website

We may analyse orders, repairs, faults, website usage and customer interactions to improve our repair processes, technical knowledge, product and service availability, website functionality, customer experience and business operations.

Where information can reasonably be anonymised or aggregated for these purposes, we may use it in that form. Where personal information is required, our lawful basis is normally our legitimate interests in improving our products, services, systems and business operations, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

4. Marketing

We may send marketing or promotional communications where permitted by applicable law.

Depending on the circumstances, our lawful basis may be your consent or our legitimate interests in promoting relevant products and services to existing customers where electronic-marketing rules permit this.

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe option included in the communication or by contacting us.

You have an absolute right to object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.

If you opt out of marketing, we may retain limited information on a suppression list so that we can respect your preference. Opting out of marketing does not prevent us from sending service communications that are necessary for an existing order, repair, account, warranty claim or other transaction.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies to operate the website and, depending on your choices, to understand website usage, personalise your experience, measure performance and support advertising.

These technologies may include:

  • Essential technologies required for security, checkout, shopping carts, customer accounts, payments, fraud prevention and other core website functions;
  • Functional technologies used to remember choices and provide enhanced website functionality;
  • Analytics technologies used to understand how visitors interact with our website and improve its performance; and
  • Advertising and personalisation technologies used, where the required consent has been provided, to measure advertising, personalise experiences or provide more relevant advertising.

We obtain consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies where consent is required by law. Technologies that are strictly necessary for the operation, security or functionality of the website may be used without consent where permitted by law.

You can accept, reject or change available cookie and privacy choices using the cookie or privacy controls displayed on our website. You can withdraw consent at any time by changing those preferences.

6. Shopify and Shopify Network Intelligence

Our online store is hosted and supported by Shopify. When you visit our website, browse products, place an order, use checkout, create or access a customer account or otherwise interact with our store, Shopify collects and processes personal information as necessary to provide its ecommerce platform and related services.

The information Shopify may process can include contact and account information, billing and shipping information, order and transaction information, products you browse or purchase, device and browser information, IP address, cookie information, payment and checkout information, and information about your interaction with our store and Shopify services.

Shopify Network Intelligence and Enhanced Services

We have enabled Shopify Network Intelligence.

When Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled, Shopify may securely use customer information from our store together with information from customers' interactions with other Shopify merchants and with Shopify to generate insights and provide services known as Enhanced Services.

These Enhanced Services may enable Remanx and Shopify to:

  • provide a more personalised and consistent shopping experience;
  • improve search, recommendations and store functionality;
  • understand how customers interact with our store and advertising;
  • improve security, fraud prevention and transaction integrity;
  • measure and improve store and advertising performance; and
  • where the required consent has been provided, show more relevant advertising based on interactions with our store, other Shopify merchants and Shopify.

To provide these services, information about your interactions with our store may be shared with and processed by Shopify and by third-party service providers used by Shopify or Remanx. Those organisations may be located in countries outside the United Kingdom.

Shopify may act as a processor or service provider for certain activities carried out on our behalf. For some Shopify services, including certain Enhanced Services, Shopify may also process personal information for purposes described in its own privacy documentation.

Other Shopify merchants do not receive direct access to Remanx customer information merely because Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled.

Your choices relating to Shopify

Where applicable law requires consent for advertising, personalisation or other non-essential processing, your consent choices made through our website's privacy controls are communicated to Shopify.

If you do not consent to non-essential cookies or tracking technologies using our Shopify privacy controls, Shopify marks relevant device data so that it is not used by Shopify Network Intelligence for non-essential purposes such as advertising.

You may withdraw consent or change your privacy preferences using the privacy controls available on our website.

You may also exercise certain rights directly with Shopify, including rights relating to Shopify's use of information for Enhanced Services, through the Shopify Privacy Portal.

For more information about how Shopify processes personal information when you interact with Shopify merchants, please read the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

7. How we share personal information

We do not sell customer lists.

We may share personal information where reasonably necessary with organisations that help us provide and operate our services, including:

  • Shopify and ecommerce service providers;
  • payment processors and payment service providers;
  • couriers, shipping and logistics providers;
  • IT, website, hosting, cloud-storage and security providers;
  • customer-support and communications providers;
  • analytics providers where permitted;
  • marketing and advertising providers where permitted;
  • accountants, insurers, professional advisers and legal advisers;
  • manufacturers, suppliers or technical providers where necessary to fulfil a service;
  • fraud-prevention and security providers;
  • government authorities, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where required by law; and
  • another organisation in connection with a sale, merger, restructuring or transfer of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate protections.

We only share information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

8. Couriers and shipping providers

Where we arrange collection or delivery, we provide the relevant carrier with information required to carry out the service. This may include your name, collection or delivery address, telephone number, email address, parcel information and shipment reference.

Carriers may process some personal information as independent data controllers under their own legal obligations and privacy policies.

Our Shipping Policy contains further information about collection, delivery, tracking and transit claims.

9. Information from garages, trade customers and other third parties

We provide services to private vehicle owners as well as garages, dealers, workshops and other businesses.

In some cases, a business customer or another person acting on your behalf may provide us with personal information about you or your vehicle so that we can provide a repair, warranty, collection, delivery or other service.

Where we receive personal information indirectly, we use it only for appropriate purposes connected with the relevant service, our legitimate business interests or legal obligations.

10. International transfers

Some of our service providers operate internationally, meaning personal information may be processed or stored outside the United Kingdom.

This includes information processed through Shopify and Shopify Network Intelligence. Shopify and its service providers may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom in order to provide Shopify services, including Enhanced Services.

Where personal information is transferred from the UK to another country, the relevant organisation must use an appropriate international-transfer mechanism or other safeguard where required by applicable data-protection law.

Depending on the destination and circumstances, safeguards may include:

  • UK adequacy regulations;
  • an approved International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA);
  • the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses;
  • another approved safeguard; or
  • a permitted legal exception where appropriate.

You may contact us if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to a particular transfer.

11. How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide services, administer warranties, maintain business and accounting records, comply with legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims.

Retention periods therefore vary according to the type of information and the reason we hold it.

Orders, payments and accounting records

Order, invoice, payment and accounting records are normally retained for the period required by applicable tax, company and accounting laws.

Repair and workshop records

Repair records, technical findings, test results, unit identifiers, photographs, part numbers, vehicle information and related workshop records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide after-sales support, identify previous work, administer warranties, investigate repeat faults, maintain an appropriate technical history and establish or defend legal claims.

Warranty records

Where a product or repair benefits from a long-term or lifetime warranty, we may retain limited customer, order, vehicle, unit and repair records for as long as the warranty remains capable of being claimed, because these records may be necessary to verify the original transaction and warranty eligibility.

Where full records are no longer necessary, we may retain a reduced record containing only the information reasonably required for warranty verification.

Customer accounts

Account information may be retained while an account remains active and afterwards for an appropriate period where information is linked to transactions, warranties, legal obligations or other legitimate business records.

Enquiries and communications

General enquiries and communications are retained for an appropriate period based on their nature. Communications connected with an order, repair, warranty, complaint or legal issue may be retained with the corresponding records.

Marketing preferences

Marketing information is retained while appropriate for the relevant marketing purpose. If you opt out, we may retain enough information on a suppression list for as long as necessary to ensure your preference continues to be respected.

We may retain information for longer where required by law, where a dispute or claim is ongoing or reasonably anticipated, or where another legitimate reason requires continued retention.

12. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access.

Measures may include access controls, authentication, appropriate staff permissions, secure service providers, system monitoring and other safeguards appropriate to the information and systems involved.

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive or confidential information through insecure communication channels.

13. Special category and highly sensitive information

Remanx does not normally require special category personal information, such as information about health, ethnicity, religion, political opinions or biometric identification, in order to provide our automotive services.

Please do not provide this type of information unless it is genuinely necessary and appropriate for a specific purpose.

14. Automated decision-making

We do not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects on customers.

We may use automated systems to support activities such as fraud detection, security, website search, product recommendations, advertising or transaction processing, but material customer-service and repair decisions can be reviewed by a person where appropriate.

15. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis on which we process your information, UK data-protection law may give you rights including:

  • Right of access – to request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification – to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Right to erasure – to ask us to delete personal information in circumstances where the right applies.
  • Right to restriction – to ask us to restrict the way we use information in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability – to receive certain information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format where the right applies.
  • Right to object – to object to certain processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to object to direct marketing – to require us to stop using your information for direct marketing at any time.
  • Right to withdraw consent – where processing is based on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time.
  • Rights relating to automated decision-making – where applicable under data-protection law.

These rights are not all absolute and may not apply in every circumstance. For example, we may need to retain information where required by law or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity before completing a request. We respond to valid requests within the time limits required by applicable law.

Some personal information is also processed directly by Shopify in connection with Shopify services and Enhanced Services. Rights relating directly to Shopify's processing can be exercised through the Shopify Privacy Portal. This is in addition to your ability to exercise applicable rights with Remanx in relation to personal information for which Remanx is responsible.

16. Your right to object

You have the right to object to our use of your personal information where we rely on legitimate interests.

If you object, we will stop the relevant processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the information is required for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

If your objection relates to direct marketing, the right to object is absolute. We will stop using your personal information for direct marketing.

17. Privacy and data-protection complaints

If you have a concern or complaint about how Remanx has collected or used your personal information, please use our Contact page and make clear that your enquiry is a data-protection or privacy complaint.

We will provide a clear way for you to make a complaint, acknowledge receipt of a data-protection complaint within 30 days, take appropriate steps to investigate it without undue delay, keep you informed where appropriate and communicate the outcome of our investigation.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent data-protection supervisory authority.

We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first, but contacting Remanx does not affect your right to complain to the ICO.

18. Children

Our website and automotive repair services are not specifically directed at children, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children for marketing purposes.

If we become aware that personal information has been provided by a child in circumstances where it should not have been collected, we will take appropriate steps in accordance with applicable law.

19. Third-party websites and services

Our website may contain links to websites, payment services, social networks, messaging services or other platforms operated by third parties.

Those organisations are responsible for their own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy does not govern personal information that a third party collects independently from you through its own website or service.

We recommend reviewing the privacy information provided by those organisations before supplying personal information to them.

20. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our website, services, business practices, technology or legal and regulatory requirements.

When we make changes, we will publish the revised policy and update the "Last updated" date above. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
