What happens in the workshop

From arrival to return delivery.

Every unit is handled as an individual workshop job. Some stages happen quickly or at the same time, but the checks and decisions remain the same.

We target 1–2 working days for most standard repairs after booking-in. Complex faults, approvals or parts availability can take longer.

  1. 01
    Stage one

    Arrival and booking-in

Your parcel is opened, identified and matched to the repair order, packing slip or enquiry. The unit details, reported symptoms and any fault codes are added to the workshop job.

We checkCustomer details, order reference, part number, parcel contents and visible condition.
We may contact you whenThe paperwork is missing, the unit cannot be identified or the parcel differs from the order.
  2. 02
    Stage two

    Initial inspection

Before electronic testing begins, the unit is inspected for impact damage, corrosion, water ingress, burnt areas, broken connectors and signs of previous repair work.

Why it mattersExternal or previous damage can change the safe repair route and the likelihood of a reliable result.
Nothing is assumedThe reported vehicle fault is useful evidence, but it does not replace inspection and testing.
  3. 03
    Stage three

    Testing and diagnosis

The unit is tested using the appropriate bench equipment, electronic measurements and known-fault checks available for that product. The aim is to reproduce or verify the reported failure before repair.

Confirmed faultThe job follows the listed or agreed repair route.
No fault foundWe review the supplied information and explain the available testing and return options.
  4. 04
    Only when required
    Stage four

    Approval or more information

Routine repairs already covered by the order do not need another approval. We pause and contact you only when the findings materially change the price, repair route or information required.

ExamplesAdditional damage, another component needed, an alternative service or an unrepairable unit.
Your actionReply to the email or call with the order number so the workshop can continue.
  5. 05
    Stage five

    Repair and remanufacture

The confirmed failure is repaired and known weak points are addressed where the service requires it. Wherever practical, repairing the original unit helps retain its vehicle data and configuration.

The work may includeComponent replacement, circuit repair, mechanical restoration, data work or internal cleaning.
Repair scopeVaries by product, condition and the fault confirmed during testing.
  6. 06
    Stage six

    Final testing and quality check

After repair, the relevant functions are tested again. The unit is checked for a stable result, reassembled where applicable and reviewed before it is released for return.

Final checksFocus on the repaired fault and the test functions available for that unit.
Vehicle-side checks still matterPower, grounds, wiring, coding, calibration and mechanical faults must also be correct.
  7. 07
    Stage seven

    Dispatch and tracking

The completed unit is securely packed and returned using the delivery service attached to the order. A dispatch confirmation and tracking link are sent when courier tracking is available.

Check your emailTracking can take a short time to become active after the parcel is collected.
Keep your order numberUse it for invoice downloads, delivery questions and any support after refitting.

When a job may pause

Not every unit follows a straight line.

These findings can require more information, a decision from you or a different repair route.

Missing details

No order number, unclear vehicle details, missing fault codes or an unidentified unit can delay booking-in.

No fault found

The issue may be intermittent or caused by wiring, sensors, voltage, coding, mechanics or another module.

Unexpected damage

Water ingress, corrosion, impact damage, burnt circuits or previous repair attempts can change the outcome.

Approval required

We contact you before carrying out work that materially differs from the service already ordered or agreed.

Before refitting

Make sure the original cause has been addressed.

A repaired unit can fail again or continue to show faults when an external vehicle problem remains. Complete the relevant checks before and after installation.

Ask about an existing repair

Battery and charging voltageConfirm stable voltage and correct power supplies.

Wiring, grounds and connectorsRepair resistance, corrosion, damaged pins and poor connections.

Water ingress and mechanical causesResolve leaks, impact damage and related component failures.

Coding, calibration and fault clearingComplete the correct vehicle procedure for the repaired system.

Updates and paperwork

Keep the order number close.

Use your account for order history and invoice downloads. Workshop questions are easiest to answer when you include the order number, part number, vehicle details and current fault codes.
