Describe the symptoms and diagnosis.

Tell us what the vehicle is doing and any checks or diagnosis that led you to this unit. If you are not certain, just include what you know. You can also add fault codes and any previous work carried out on the unit.

Vehicle symptoms Describe what happens in the vehicle, when it occurs and whether it is constant or intermittent. Diagnosis or checks carried out Add any test results, measurements, communication checks or other findings that led you to send this unit. If no diagnosis has been carried out, enter “No diagnosis carried out”.

Fault codes Include the control module, exact code and the description shown by the diagnostic tool where possible.

We are happy to assess units that have already been opened, repaired or modified, and this does not normally mean an extra charge by itself. The history matters because previous intervention can change the fault we are actually diagnosing.

Unknown induced faultsEarlier work can introduce electrical, software, PCB or physical faults that were not part of the vehicle's original problem.

The original cause may remainWe may successfully repair a fault created by an earlier intervention even though the vehicle's original underlying fault is elsewhere.

Later symptoms can be differentA unit can test correctly for the reported fault, then later show another pre-existing or induced issue that was not active or detectable during the original assessment.

Tell us anything you know — even if you are unsure. Details of previous opening, soldering, replaced components, coding, water or physical damage help us interpret the test results more accurately. If extensive pre-existing damage or substantially more work is required, we will contact you before any additional charge.
